I know some of their songs... but I'm not a big fan. But yes! I did watch the concert last night at the Fort Bonifacio Open Field.... The 'Bear' was adventurous enough to buy concert tickets for two. =)
The performances are good! Chris Brown is such a good dancer and definitely a crowd pleaser. He did some Michael Jackson moves. Rihanna on the other hand is also good. She makes sure that the crowd is alive by asking questions and shouting the word 'Manila' several times (to which the crowd always responds with a roar). She's not really much of a dancer but she puts awesome movements to her songs. In between, there was a fireworks display.
I enjoyed it really but after the experience, I said to myself that I would never want to attend that kind of event again. 'Seated' and 'covered' concerts are still ok for me.... but open field? uhhh... I think not. You might be thinking... e hello? concert yun... talagang magulo, madaming tao, nakatayo..... but I just don't like it.
It started at 8pm but we were there by 6pm. We witnessed the sun go down and the people starting to multiply exponetially.... (estimated attendance is 70,000 warm bodies). The waiting shares the great chunk of the hard part. Of course you have a choice -- wait while standing up or sit down on the grassless field to be stepped upon by people passing through. You would really feel your legs cramping up. There was a big relief when the music started but there's another problem, I can't see the stage. It's like a giraffe/ballerina moment for me (stretching my neck to its maximum capacity while tiptoeing to the best of my ability). Good thing there are large screens. The other chunk of the hard part is when the concert was over.... we had to walk to Market Market for transportation.... Since it's already past eleven, finding a vehicle that would bring us to EDSA was difficult. It's not just OUR problem, this dilemma was shared by the other thousands that don't have their own wheels. Everywhere you look, you'll find long lines, occupied taxis and people.... lot's and lot's of people. Ay naku.... of course, we were already tired especially me because I've been awake since 6AM to attend mass, attend driving lessons... I also had little sleep the night before because of our greenhills schedule....I was hardly speaking -- my legs hurt, I'm sleepy, I'm tired. After an hour, the Boni Shuttle returned and upon reaching EDSA, we were lucky enough to come accross a cab that's willing to take us to Las Pinas.... (plus 50 nga lang..) We took it and we reached the house at past 2AM.
Right now, as I'm writing this in the office, I feel so tired. I don't feel like working. Oh well, that's the not-so-nice thing of having an event like that on a Sunday evening. Of course it's inevitable that it'll finish really late but hey! It's a Sunday and the next day is a Monday, a working day. Sunday nights are supposed to be spent for resting in preparation for the week ahead. But anyway, IT'S FOR FREE and come to think of it... I'm with the bear so okay lang....hehehe.....
I think I'll sleep talaga ng lunch.
